This was an unseasoned cast Iron and needed to be seasoned at a high temp of about 500� - 550� The manual stated to do it at 350� but that was not hot enough.
This is a great Dutch Oven and very well built, will last more than a life time.
Shipping was slow took about 5-7 days before they even shipped it. So order way before needed.

I was one of the first brides to register for this china pattern two years ago. Since then, it has been the most endearing, beautiful pattern I've ever had the privilege to own. I have entertained many a dinner with my six (5pc) place settings. Guests compliment its stunning tone-on-tone pattern and delicate little pearls. The pattern cleans wonderfully, but I would NOT recommend putting it in the dishwasher (except on rare occassions). Over time, the banding could wear off. My parents have owned their Lenox for almost 30 years, and it's still as gorgeous as the day they bought it. The Pearl Innocence pattern is so versatile, I use it during the new year (silver), during spring, for bridal and baby showers, for fancy evening dinners, and right up until Thanksgiving. I've even been able to buy William Sonoma's cream napkins & pearl napkins rings to go with it. I wound up putting the pattern with Waterford's Kelsey Platinum wine goblet and Gorham's Monet Stainless Flatware. At Christmas, sugarred cranberry napkin rings perfectly set off the pattern. Sorry, can you tell I love the pattern? If you love pretty things, you'll love this pattern...and how cheap it is Now vs. when I got it two year ago!!! Now I'm just working on being able to afford the sugar, creamer, and gravy boat!

I bought two place settings the other day,and boy was I pleased. The craftmanship of the pices is unbelievable. The pictures do no justice for this item. It is a must-see. Actually, it's more of a must-touch. The tiny beads on the rim is adoring. I'm adding to my Hope Chest and plan on getting the entire line. I'm especially in love with the creamer and sugar bowl. Trust me, I'm very exuberated on my pick.

Very solid and well built. The motor weighs 11-12 pounds out of 18 which is the total weight of the grinder. You really do not need a more expensive one for any machine. I have it with my Andreja Premium. It gives always consistant grind for espresso but I am not sure it is coarse enough for French Press. You get better results with a cheaper burr grinder for French Press. One very important note: Each coffee beans needs different set of grinding. I learned that the hard way to the extent I thought for a while there is some thing wrong with my machine. Thanks to CHRIS COFFEE they advised me to go much finer of my grind for the beans I was using. Normally with Lavazza and Illy beans you may set the grind at 10. I went to 6 and the bar pressure still brewing at 4. I had to go to 1 in order to have the bar pressure at 9-10. I concluded that the coffee beans I am using from Yemen were only good for Turkish coffee and not for espresso. So stick guys with Italian coffee as this will save you a lot of trouble.

Even if you can't afford this, please do yourself a favor and find a way to buy this. I am so pleased with it. It is quiet and very efficient. It somehow makes the coffee beans smell better, and coffee taste better than other grinders I have tried. Very precise control of the grinds. Well built, strong and quiet. I highly recommend this grinder. Don't pay twice and buy something cheaper, you will regret it!

The grill pan from Calphalon has met all expectations of being able to have the tasty streaks and reduced fat that comes from grilling meats. We have done steaks, chicken breasts, and pork chops with success. We have cooked both on top of the stove and in the oven. The results were uniformly good.

If I had it to do over again - after experience - I would get a smaller pan. The 13 inch pan holds a lot of food and overcovers the large heating eye on our stove. However, the pan stores well in the stove drawer so it is convenient to use.

I like the pan but it is kind of hard to clean. I usually soak it for an hour before scrubbing it clean with scrubbing sponge. Maybe if I used Brillo to scrub it cleaning it may be easier. Also the pan is bigger than i thought and it doesn't really fit to nicely in my kitchen sink so cleaning it is a real chore. Other than that I like the pan. It cooks nicely, grill marks, etc. I would give it 5 stars if it weren't for the cleaning issues for me.

I purchased this machine in March, 2009, when Illy was offering it for ~$150. I used it in an office for ~6 months and have tried all 4 of Illy's varieties (medium, dark, lungo, and decaf).

Coffee from this machine is incredibly consistent and incredibly boring. It'll never be too bitter or sour, but it will also never be memorable like a good espresso. It's like the Folger's or Maxwell House of the espresso world: best for those whose only desire is to dose caffeine into their system in 1-2 oz increments.

Anyone passionate about coffee will likely tire of this machine rapidly as options for roasts are limited and none are nearly as good or complex as what can be produced from a standard espresso machine. If you're looking for good espresso on a budget, I'd suggest taking a look at a Mypressi Twist and Zassenhaus hand grinder.

I bought an X7 last year and I still absolutely love it, but since then, I've purchased 3 of the X8's for friends and I'll admit that I'm a little jealous. The only advantage the X7 has is it's style and colors but if that isn't important to you, get the X8. It's only $175 from [...]. You can't beat that price. The machine is AWESOME and so easy to use. Just remember to descale every 2-3 months!

I purchased this unit to supplement my frig's ice maker. I thought it would be really good especially on the weekends with guests and visitors to the pool. When it arrived , I cleaned it out per the instructions and hooked it, but the ice tasted awful even after running it for a couple of days, so I took it apart and cleaned it again and rinsed it out with baking soda and that did the trick. It makes ice pretty quickly and fills up the basket fast. My only complaints are the ice cubes, even on "large", are kind of small and hollow which makes them melt quickly and they are "wet" so if you put them in your freezer into a container or bag, they get all stuck together unlike the cubes from your frig's ice maker which come out "dry" and don't stick together. However, for using directly in drinks,pitchers,blenders or even a cooler, they're great and convenient. I haven't run out ice since !! Overall, I'm satisfied with the unit.

I bought this in November of 2010. I love it, and like I said in my last review I would buy another if it went out. Well, it seems I don't have to. My Ice Maker started taking a extra long time to make ice recently and I contacted NewAir. Seems like Amazon is not the only fantastic customer service here. NewAir did not hesitate to issue me a RMA#. All I had to do was pay shipping. Of course it was still under warranty, but I had no problems whatsoever! But even if I did....I would HAVE to order another one. I love this ice maker.
Just be sure to clean it once a week and if you have hard water, use good water. Of course you would because you are going to be drinking it and it will make the machine last longer. I also would suggest make your ice and turn it off. I think it will last a lot longer than falling asleep and letting it run all night or for hours unnecessarily. But that is only my opinion.

After constantly moving from one home with an ice maker to one without, I am delighted to finally have an ice maker that will follow me where ever I go. I researched several and ended up with this one because of the reviews and the aswesome red color. The color of the unit is fabulous. It really cheers up the kitchen. The ice itself is great once you work thru the newness factor (about 5 ice cycles). A great hint is when you are not actively making ice and the unit is powered off, place a small cup or open container of baking soda (just like in the fridge) to help absorb the plastic odor and keep the ice fresh an tasteless. I also use a hint in another review about pouring the fresh made ice on top a cookie sheet and putting in the freezer(lined with nonstick foil) to really get a really good hard freeze on the cubes then putting into a ice bin. The ice is great used straight out of the machine. I just enjoying filling up my freezer bin once or twice a week so I now always have ice ready. It is awesome. I should not have waited so long to purchase it!

While the customer service at Kuhn Rikon is friendly I have to say they are inept at dealing with problems. After owning one of these pressure cookers for a few months the gasket blew. I never had any problems prior to this just one day it didn't hold pressure. I sent the Pot in, it took about a month for it to come back. Upon receiving my pot with a fixed gasket I noticed an unsightly dent on the bottom. I called right away and the customer service representative said someone else would have to call me back. I received a call several hours later that said, "no problem send the pot in and we will replace it." I sent the pot in, 2 + weeks passed and I noticed it still hadn't been returned. I called and was told the new pot was heading out that day and I would receive it that monday. Monday arrived and I received the exact same pot with a note stating that the dent could not have happened due to any malfeasance on their part. I called and told the entire story to Rudy Keller himself only to be shut down. He told me no one on his staff would have ever promised to replace the pot. I explained to him I would have never sent it had I not been promised a new pot. needless to say I am without a new pot, nor will I ever be with a new Kuhn Rikon pot after this 5 week debacle.

This is an essential piece of kitchen equipment. I use it several times a week for everything from making dog food to stews, cooking beets, etc. I work 6 days/week, and when I get home, I can have a great dinner within an hour or less - and that includes preparation time. I have also used it for making amazing chutneys that otherwise have to cook for hours. With this pressure cooker, it's all done within 1/2 hour. When a family member comes down with a cold, I put a whole chicken in there, just cover it with water, add a small can of organic tomatoes, some salt, and it is ready in 1/2 hour to 40 minutes. I bought one for myself, and 3 more for my daughters.

Bought it half a year ago and love it since day 1. We use it almost every day for various type of meals: rice, soup, meat, pasta etc. and the result is great.

We had tried to use a couple of pressure cookers manufactured by different companies incl. two different brand of electric pressure cookers.

This one (Kuhn Rikon Duromatic Top) is way way much better than other PCs i have used.

PROS:
+ stainless steel (the container contacts with food is stainless steel). I hate Teflon or non-stick thing to contact the food. Some electric pressure cookers tout their stainless steel product, but the container which contacts the food is made of non-stick chemical material..do not like that at all.

+ no rattling scary sounds during cooking like most of other pressure cooker does.

+ quality seems to be very good.

CONS:

None.

It is a bit expensive comparing with other pressure cookers, but i never regret a penny since I bought it.

I would recommend it to anyone

When I purchased this, I also got one in the 16 Qt size. I use the 16 Qt size more - because it's easier to handle. The 20 Qt is too big for me to use at home on my cooktop. (Hence the 4 Star) It would probably be perfect in a restaurant. LOVE these those - nothing burns/sticks to the bottom (of course you have to stir it!) - great product. If I had more room between my cooktop and range-top, I would have rated it a 5 star!

This is a great stock pot. I use it for canning. Nothing sticks to the bottom thanks to the 3-ply clad base. Even though I have to cook large quantities for long periods of times I don't have things stick to the bottom as I have experienced with other stock pots.

Finish wears off & food begins to stick, like any regular cheap cookware. Only problem is, I can't bring myself to throw it out after spending that uch money! If I'd bought something cheap & a-la-carte, like I'd done my whole life, I'd feel much better. Absolutely NOT worth the money!!!! WAY OVER-RATED!!! And Cuisinarts Warranty isn't worth the paper it's written on!!

I bought these 4 years ago, and I am surprised that this particular item is still on sale. For the price I think this set is a good deal. But you get what you pay for. The 8 inch and 10 inch skillets started to show their age in about 2 and half years. And I do not cook that often.The non-stick performance did not degrade noticeably, however the non-stick surface was scratched and discolored. I was not sure about the health effects of continuing to use those pans and hence threw those away. I never put the pans in the dishwasher and almost always used soft wood/silicone spatulas. From my experience, I would estimate that the non-stick finish lasts about a year with regular use. The other pots have been used more sparingly and are still in good shape. The exterior holds up well and the handles are comfortable. The glass lids do not seal tightly but are of good quality.

This has great suction power. It picks up everything. I like the cyclonic action. It is easy to empty and clean. Just keeping fingers crossed that the battery will last. Past Black and Decker dust buster batteries have not lasted that well. This is an 18 volt battery so it has more than the usual power. At this moment, I would say it is worth while to purchase.

Ive never owned a hand-vac prior to this Black and Decker so I dont have a wealth of comparison to give. Despite that the experience so far has pointed to a good purchase.

The Good
- Solid, weighty feel.
- Ergonomic and intuitive design. Easy to operate and maintain by all ages without even touching the manual.
- Powerful, consistent suction. The first power rating, of two, is enough for most everything.
- Easy to empty.

The Difficult
- It is a solid item, the motor and battery making it fairly heavy for children and the advanced elderly.
- Loud while in use but a good indicator of a low battery as the sound starts to fade rapidly.
- Easy to empty but messy to clean properly, including emptying the reusable filter.
- Be careful of the canister door. Ive not had this happen but were the vac to fall from your hand when the door is open I can definitely see it snapping from its plastic frame.

The Odd
- The rotating nozzle is a good option to have available, adjusting to a wide range of angles. On the other hand...theres -nothing- to stop the debris youve just sucked up from falling out again. And this can easily happen when the nozzle is tucked to the underside of a somewhat full vac.
- The two included nozzle attachments (an angle and brush tip) are essentially useless.
- Replacing the battery. While not hard to accomplish the requirements for doing so might turn some away.

Overall Im glad to have purchased this Black and Decker. While it has some odd issues it does its primary job very well and thats all I can really ask at this price.

Also, if you find that you like this vac there is a vehicle-ready 12 volt 'little brother' available.

The good reviews about this vac are from people whose batteries haven't worn out yet. Yes - it's a very strong vacuum and picks up and traps fine particle dust. It's screams like a banshee while it's doing it though. The real problem with this machine comes when its battery life is over. That's when you discover that the battery is hard wired to the motor and the only way to replace it is buy a motor/battery combo which costs more than the original unit. As you can imagine, not many replacements are sold - so the consequence is, after a couple years use, the 'sucker' is going to spend how many hundred years in a land fill? And who's gonna clean that up?

I sent the item back, and told him the condition of the juicer and he still refuses to send my money back. It has been almost two months and I have not received nada! BUYERS BEWARE SERIOUSLY!!!!

This juicer does the job as advertized, is quick and easy to clean and requires only a small storage space. We do not find it especially noisy and I don't hesitate to make juice in the morning while my spouse is still asleep. After using it for a couple of months, it takes me about 20 minutes from the time I pick out the ingredients I'm going to use to completing cleaning of the juicer for me to make about 24 ounces of excellent juice. Highly recommended.
