The construction is solid, strong enough for the amount of media it is intended to hold. It has a nice finish, but it might contrast with real high quality (wood) furniture in a living room or other central area. I have placed this in our rec room where the decor is simple and this is probably the fanciest piece of furniture. I purchased this primarily for three reasons, capacity, a closing door, and the fact that the door only needs to open to one side.

I will be storing mostly CD's, but people with large DVD or Blue-Ray collections may want to consider something larger. Overall I would actually give this 4.5 stars because the price seems a bit high... but what isn't expensive these days? When all is said and done, I would highly recommend this to anyone unless they are willing to spend a lot more money.

For the price, this storage unit is amazing. It holds all my DVD's with room for more. I only used 4 of the 8 shelves that came with it, as that is all that will fit if you want to store the DVD's upright. Even so, it has plenty of room. It is just unfortunate that the price went up so much from the $150 that it used to cost.

Bought this just a few days ago and wanted to see it in person before ordering more. It's well made and heavy and works well. Wanted to buy two more but just saw the price had increased more than $30. Decided not to buy two more at this price. It's a nice cabinet and does it's job.
